Rainfall Atlas of Hawaii

The Rainfall Atlas of Hawaii is a set of interactive maps showing the spatial patterns of rainfall for the major Hawaiian islands. The Atlas represents estimated monthly and annual rainfall averaged over 30 years (1978-2007). Users can zoom in on areas of interest and click on a particular location to view charts and tables of rainfall statistics.

The Atlas also enables users to understand where in the state average rainfall estimates are more and less certain. A map of uncertainty corresponds to every map of mean rainfall. Uncertainty is highest in remote locations, far from the nearest location of a rain gauge.

The Rainfall Atlas of Hawaii is produced by the Geography Department at the University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa.
